AIRFRYER CHICKEN WINGS WITH A SPICY STICKY SAUCE

Cooking Time 25 minutes

Forget about the Colonel's bucket; you need these Airfryer chicken wings in your life, and they are finger-licking good.

Wing Ingredients

  • 1 kg of chicken wings.

  • 100g of corn flour.

  • 1 tsp of smoked paprika.

  • 1 tsp of cayenne pepper.

  • 1 tsp of garlic granules.

  • 1 tsp of dry thyme.

  • 1 tsp of white pepper.

  • 1 tsp of salt.

  • Oil spray.

Spicy Sticky Sauce Ingredients

  • 50 ml of apple cider vinegar.

  • 5 tbsp of ketchup.

  • 2 tbsp of sriracha or any hot sauce.

  • 2 tbsp of runny honey.

  • 2 tbsp of dark brown sugar.

  • 1 red chili, deseeded and diced (optional).

Method

  1. Into a bowl, add the flour and spices, and mix. Then add the wings and coat them in the seasoned flour.

  2. Give the airfryer basket a good coating with the oil spray. Shake off any excess flour of the wings, then give each individual wing a good spraying. Cook at 200°C for 20 minutes, shaking them halfway through. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to do this in batches.

  3. While the chicken is cooking, place all the sauce ingredients into a saucepan, mix, and heat over low to medium heat for five minutes or until everything is combined and becomes sticky.

  4. Once the wings are ready, coat them in the sauce and serve. I like to garnish mine with chopped chilies, sesame seeds and if I had any at the time some spring onions.
