Total Time 4 hours - Serves 5

This is such a great recipe and so easy to do. Literally, just throw everything into your slow cooker and that’s it. 4 hours later you are left with super tender, fall-off-the-bone duck ready to pile high into a tortilla wrap with all your favourite toppings.

Duck Ingredients

  • 4 duck legs.

  • 190ml sweet chilli sauce.

  • Juice of 2 oranges.

  • 1 tbsp of Chinese five-spice.

  • 1 tbsp of soy sauce.

Hoisin Slaw Ingredients

  • 1 carrot, grated.

  • 1 red onion, thinly sliced.

  • 1/2 red cabbage, thinly sliced.

  • 4 tbsp of mayonnaise.

  • 2 tbsp of hoisin sauce.

  1. Simply place all the duck ingredients into your slow cooker, along with the squeezed oranges, season, mix and cook on the high setting for 4 hours or till tender. Give the legs a turn every so often.

  2. Once the duck is tender, remove it from the slow cooker and place it on one side. Pour the cooking juices into a saucepan and place them onto the hob. Skim off any fat from the top of the sauce.

  3. Remove the skin and the bone from the duck then pull the meat apart. Add the duck to the sauce then reduce over a high heat till thick and sticky, around 7-10 minutes.

  4. For the slaw mix all the ingredients together and season. Now it’s time to build your tacos, with your favourite toppings. I used avocado, feta, chillies, cucumber, a few mint leaves and a squeeze of lime.
